Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
Honey from a Razor:
Why Attachment Hurts
Sat 5 July at Red Hill
Turner class is on Winter Break til 12 Aug
Each class includes two guided meditations and a teaching for modern life, drawn from Buddha’s wisdom.
So often those we love the most, hurt us most deeply. So many of the good things in our life come with a painful downside. And families, careers, even our enjoyments like long-awaited holidays never quite live up to expectations.
Buddha explained that all our pain, hurt and disappointment stems from our mistaken belief called attachment. Attachment is when we feel we need someone or something in order to be happy – when we believe we’ll be left bereft without them, or when we feel an urge to have something (even when we know it’s not good for us).
Like licking honey from a razor’s edge, following our attachment invariably leads to suffering.
In these classes, Resident Teacher & Buddhist nun Kelsang Dana will share precise methods taught by Buddha that enable us to understand attachment and eliminate it from our mindset. You’ll feel in control of your life and of your happiness.
These special methods and meditations are powerful. You’ll see and feel the results in your daily life.
Suitable for everyone – come any week.
