The Power of the Mind

Sun 25 Sep | 10am-1pm
Meditation Workshop

Discover the profound connection between your mind and your world, and learn how to improve them both.

Workshop Description

We live every moment of our life through our mind. Our mind dictates every aspect of our experience; it shapes our relationships, our successes and failures – and it drives all our happiness and suffering.

Through understanding the nature and power of our mind, we learn how to make it work well for us – and our life and world also change for the better. We become empowered to create a life of happiness, confidence and wisdom.

Learn practical and effective meditations and ways of thinking – drawn from Buddha’s teachings – that will enable you to understand your mind and harness its power.

You'll discover:

  • A deeper understanding of your own mind, and its true nature
  • The key functions of your mind & insights into how it works
  • How your mind shapes your world & all your experiences
  • How to build a deeper wisdom that is the real foundation of happiness
  • How to find release from painful minds and negative thinking

Held over two sessions with refreshments offered in the break for those attending in person, the workshop will include guided meditations, teachings and an opportunity to ask questions. Everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of experience. You will leave this workshop feeling uplifted and empowered to feel happily confident without pride or arrogance.

The teacher of this workshop is Kelsang Dana, the Resident Teacher of Bodhisattva Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Canberra. Dana has been practising Buddhist meditation for over 12 years. Through her joyful and loving aspect, Dana is able to communicate the essential points of meditation and Buddhism in a way that makes people feel confident, uplifted and encouraged.
